PackFit Events

Not sure how to start a workout program or what to do? Need some pointers to help you with your fitness journey? Want to challenge yourself and push your fitness potential?

Stop by for any of our great PackFit events! Events cater to all skill levels and will meet you wherever you are at in your fitness journey. Whether just starting or an experienced veteran, we can help you with your journey!

    Fit-O

    Not sure how to start a workout program or what to do? Fit-O (short for fitness orientation) sessions will take out the intimidation. We will give you a tour, explain the machines, and even give advice about a good beginner workout program.

    Sessions are for led by trained fitness friends and will be offered early in the semester, during week #2 & #3 of classes:

    • Tuesday, September 2 @ 4pm
    • Wednesday, September 3 @ 12noon
    • Thursday, September 4 @ 7am and 7pm (2 sessions)
    • Monday, September 8 @ 7pm
    • Tuesday, September 9 @ 7AM
    • Wednesday, September 10 @ 4pm
    *Times selected during light traffic times at Rec

    Lunch & Learn

    Bring your lunch and chat with us about topics that will help you with your fitness journey. Information shared can be helpful for folks just starting their fitness journey and also for folks who are exercise pros.

    • September 8: Exercising for Effectiveness - Will your work out help you meet your goals?
    • October 6: Working out for Wellness - Consistency and Motivation
    • November 3: Muscle Manual - Strength, Endurance, and Intensity
    • December 8: Beat the Winter Blues - Staying fit and healthy during the cold weather, short daylight hours, and Holidays

    October Challenge: Pack and Stack

    Don't let all of that Halloween candy pack on the pounds! It's everywhere. The pounds from those bite-size candy bars add up - that's Spooky. Event runs October 6-31.

    • Week 1: First set of exercises to do daily (walking stairs, pushups, abs, etc.)
    • Week 2: New set of exercises IN ADDITION TO week #1
    • Week 3: New set of daily exercises IN ADDTION TO week #1 and week #2
    • Week 4: New + Weeks 1-3 (You get it)

    November Challenge: Lose 5

    Let's lose a few pounds before Thanksgiving break. On average, college students gain 2-10 pounds during fall semester. Maybe you did your part with the "Freshman 15". Maybe you hit the Halloween candy hard. Maybe you're going home for Thanksgiving and want to impress your friends. Maybe you want to make room in your sweats for your Thanksgiving feast.... We've got 3 weeks in November and can lose 5 pounds!

    Our Fitness Schedule will have special sessions for burning fat - TBA

    December Challenge: The Final Countdown

    We want to help you be prepared for the last 3 weeks of classes and be successful with finals! We will provide you with a Challenge Chart and some stickers. Chart will serve as a reminder to do these things daily for health and productivity:

    • Exercise (Stress relief and energy)
    • Eating (fuel for brain, no sugar crashes)
    • Sleep (wake up, bed time, getting enough zzz's)
    • Manage Time (study time, preparation time, reduce stress)
    • Mindful "Me Time" (yoga, meditation)

    If you get a certain number of stars, you get a prize!
