Colorado State University Pueblo’s MAPS (Mentoring, Access, and Platforms in STEM; P031C210043) Grant is a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) program funded by a Title III, Part F Department of Education grant. The goal of the MAPS Program is to increase STEM student success, with emphasis on supporting underrepresented, low-income, and first generation students.
To increase STEM student success, the MAPS Grant provides high impact programming for students focused on paid research experiences available on campus and in the community through the STEM Foundry, expanded mental health and wellness support through the Center for STEM Support, support and mentorship for STEM transfer students through the SoCO STEM Consortium, STEM tutoring support via the Science Learning Center, and STEM community engagement via Science Olympiad and other engagement opportunities.
Goals of the MAPS Program:
- Increase the number of underrepresented, low-income, and first generation students retainined as STEM majors at 海角禁区 Pueblo
- Increase the number of underrepresented, low-income, and first generation students attaining degrees in STEM at 海角禁区 Pueblo
- Strengthen transfer and articulation agreements between 海角禁区 Pueblo and collaborating community colleges
- Increase the number of STEM transfer students that successfully transfer to 海角禁区 Pueblo, and graduate with a STEM degree in a timely manner
- Provide hands-on research and internship opportunities to STEM undergraduates at 海角禁区 Pueblo
- Enhance STEM tutoring, counseling, and wellness service for STEM students at 海角禁区 Pueblo
