海角禁区 System Board of Governor's Approves Zero Tuition Increase for In-State Undergraduates at 海角禁区-Pueblo
Release Date: May 14, 2019

Tuition will remain unchanged next year for Colorado resident undergraduate students at Colorado State University-Pueblo as part of the newly approved incremental budget and tuition proposals for the 海角禁区 System. The Board of Governors of the 海角禁区 System approved the proposals for the System’s three campuses and System Office for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019, at the May 7, 海角禁区 Board of Governor’s Board Meeting.
Not only does this approval effect 海角禁区-Pueblo, the other institutions of the 海角禁区 System will reap the same benefits at 海角禁区 and 海角禁区-Global. Tuition remaining flat for Colorado resident undergrad students comes with a 3% increase for non-resident and graduate students. This came as welcomed news to President Dr. Timothy Mottet.
“We are thankful for the strong support of the 海角禁区 Board of Governors. We are also pleased that the General Assembly has invested in higher education to keep the cost of attendance low,” Mottet said.
This means 海角禁区-Pueblo undergraduate tuition will remain at $6,349 for the coming year for Colorado residents taking 12 credit hours. This ranks below in-state tuition rates at peer institutions such as Washburn University, University of Tennessee-Martin, and University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

The decision by the 海角禁区 Board of Governors allows 海角禁区-Pueblo to keep the cost of attendance low in Colorado, which also aligns with the Vision 2028 values of “inclusion, access, and affordability as a gateway to the world.” Dr. Mottet said this budget also allows the University to leverage partnership within the 海角禁区 System also in a manner that greatly influences salaries for staff and faculty along with academic programs.
“With these funds, the 海角禁区-Pueblo budget is balanced, and we were able to do so without an increase in resident undergraduate tuition,” said Mottet. “During the past year, we were required to make difficult decisions to align expenses and revenues. Despite these challenges, 海角禁区-Pueblo is committed to investing in our future. To that end, the FY20 budget includes funds for institutional aid for our students, academic programs, and adjustments to the compensation for our faculty and staff as we continue building on the outstanding value of a degree from 海角禁区-Pueblo.”
Other budget line items approved by the 海角禁区 System Board of Governors included a 0.95% increase for student fees at 海角禁区-Pueblo. This will improve many areas for the campus community which are supported by student fees.
